FAQs - Using the eLicensing System

Currently, my license status is listed as Licensed NBA.  However, I am now employed.  How can I add my employing broker/corporation online?

You can add your employing broker/corporation via eLicensing in one of two ways: During your online license renewal or whenever Add Employer is included in Your Menu Options.

To add your employing broker/corporation during your online license renewal, simply enter your employer's license number on the New Employing Broker/Corporation page, then follow the online instructions.

To add your employing broker/corporation via Your Menu Options:

  • Logon to eLicensing. The Your Menu Options page will be displayed.
  • Click on Add Employer. The New Employing Broker/Corporation page will be displayed, enabling you to input the license number of your new employer.
  • Enter your new employer's license number, then press the Display Employer Information button.  The New Employing Broker/Corporation page will be displayed, showing the name and mailing address of your new employer.
    • If the employer you entered has multiple licenses, then the names and mailing addresses of all of the applicable licenses will be displayed. To select the applicable employer, click on the radio button to the left of the employer's name, then click on the Select Employer button.
  • If the new employing broker/corporation information is correct, press the Save Employer Information button.  The  Employment Certification Information page will be displayed.  This page will include a statement that your employing broker or licensed officer on behalf of your employing corporation can certify your employment now or at a later date.
    • If your employer is available to certify your employment, click the Yes button. The Employing Broker/Corporation Certification page will be displayed, allowing your employer to enter his/her eLicensing username and password and then click the Certify button to certify your employment.  (NOTE:  Your employer must be registered in eLicensing before he/she can certify your employment online.)
    • If your employer is not available to certify your employment, click the No button. The Employment Certification Information page will be displayed.  This page will include a statement that you can provide your employer's email address in order to send him/her a reminder to certify your employment via eLicensing.  If your employment is not certified within 7 days, a letter will be mailed to your employer requesting he/she certify your employment via eLicensing.  Identification of your employer cannot take effect until your employment has been certified.
