What type of browser do I need?

To benefit from Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, you will need a browser with SSL capabilities.  Examples of SSL browsers include Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0 (or higher) and Netscape 2.0 (or higher).  To use the eLicensing System, you will need version 5.0 (or higher) of either browser.

To find out which version of browser is installed on your computer, click on Help in the menu bar at the top of your screen.  From the drop-down menu, select About.  A window will open, providing information about your browser, including the version number.  If it is not version 5.0 or higher, you will need to obtain and install a newer version.

For your convenience, we have provided links to both the Microsoft and Netscape download sites from which you can download a free copy of the latest version of your browser.  To obtain upgrades of browsers other than Internet Explorer or Netscape, contact the applicable software publisher or your Internet Service Provider.
